EXPERIMENT 3
AIM
To find out the relationship between different number of feather with the distance travelled by the shuttlecock

HYPOTHESIS
The more the number of feathers the shorter the distance it travelled

APPARATUS
24 feathered shuttlecock, 16 feathered shuttlecock, 8 feathered shuttlecock, measuring tape, shuttle-push shooter

VARIABLES
MANIPULATED VARIABLE         : Number of feathers
RESPONDING VARIABLE           : Distance it travelled
CONSTANT VARIABLE                : Type of feather

PROCEDURES
1.    A shuttlecock shooter was set up.

2.    Shuttlecocks were prepared with different number of feather
a. 8
b. 16
c. 24

3.    8 feathered shuttlecocks was dip into colour-powder.
4.    8 feathered shuttlecocks was shot three times to take the average reading in a close room to avoid wind factor.
5.    The distance travelled by the shuttlecocks was measured by using measuring tape.
6.    The procedures 1 until 5 repeated with 16 feathered shuttlecock and 24 feathered shuttlecock.
7.    Data was recorded.

DISSCUSIONS
We found that 8 feathered shuttlecock traveled 1.36m.While 16 feathers travelled 1.39m.and 24 feathered shuttlecock travelled 1.33m.This shows that less feather shuttlecock travel longer compare to others. This is because shuttlecock with less feather travel in less air resistance and less frictional force. This will help the shuttlecock to travel further. On the other hand 24 feather shuttle cock travelled in a shorter distance. This is because there are more feathers in a shuttlecock which faced more air resistance and more frictional force. Finally it is proved that 16 feathered shuttlecock was able to travel in suitble distance.

CONCLUSION
The more the number of feathers the shorter the distance it travelled.
